Our series of factory tours continue with like minded rail operative companies having the opportunity to view the low emission Hybrid Diesel CBD30 tonne locomotives in build for Snowdon Mountain Railway.
The new locomotives will be driven by maintenance free electric motors which will be powered by traction battery and a Diesel generator. On their decent from the summit the Diesel generator in the locomotive will be switched off whilst service breaking recharges the battery, preparing the engine for its next ascent. The new Diesel generator engines are Euro 5 standard and are much more fuel efficient and far lower in emissions than the existing Diesel fleet.
The innovative low emissions Hybrid Diesel CBD30 locomotives will be in service May this year in time for Snowdon’s busy summer season.
The Clayton itinerary involves a company presentation, a workshop tour followed by a Q&A session, with Managing Director, Clive Hannaford.
Our tours will continue throughout March and we look forward to meeting those of you who are booked onto the visit.
