Nearly 30 years ago, a Clayton Free Steer (FSV) Manrider was sold to British Coal for use underground in the Point of Ayr colliery (which closed in 1996). Now the National Coal Mining, NCM, is in the process of restoring this unique vehicle to its former glory.

Clayton Equipment is proud to assist and support NCM in the restoration. Clayton’s Managing Director, Clive Hannaford, donated the original build information, drawings, parts list and driver’s keys to Graham Chalkley, a representative for the NCM.

Clayton continues to support their products after many decades, even those that are now over sixty years old!
