Clayton Equipment Ltd recently received a visit from Kate Griffiths MP for Burton and Uttoxeter.

After an introduction to the Company, both Steve Gretton Executive Chairman and Clive Hannaford Managing Director accompanied her for a tour of the Clayton operation to see first-hand the build of the new Class 18 emission free locomotives.

Ms Griffiths MP, was fascinated to hear the company’s history, to discover the breadth of products manufactured and the diversity, innovation, sustainability and commented that “it was certainly a visit with a difference”.

After learning from Clive Hannaford, Clayton’s frustration that as a local employer which has increased staff levels by 100%, have more orders than the current manufacturing site can manage, the opportunity to expand the current site is limited and the need for a new location is required.

Ms Griffiths MP offered to speak with local leaders to assist in Clayton Equipment in the search for new local premises.
