Malaysian Construction Project

Another project complete! Clayton Equipment recently despatched a batch of five battery locomotives from its Burton Upon Trent headquarters to a prestigious client in Asia.

28 Tonne Battery Locomotive For Malaysia

The shipment compromised of one 4 Tonne and four 28 Tonne battery locomotives for use in a Malaysian construction project. The locomotives will be deployed to haul materials to site and to take waste from the tunnel development.

Steeple Grange Light Railway

Clayton Equipment were delighted to welcome a visit from over 20 members of the Steeple Grange Light Railway on 7th February, 2014.

Established in 1985, the Steeple Grange Light Railway is an 18-inch gauge line, located near Wirksworth in Derbyshire. It is built on the trackbed of a branch of the old Cromford and High Peak Railway, which is now known as the High Peak Trail. Motive power is provided by ex-industrial diesel, battery-electric and petrol locomotives, and passengers are carried in an old National Coal Board manrider.

Glencore Xstrata

In November 2012, Clayton Equipment accepted an order from Glencore Xstrata, one of the world’s largest global diversified natural resource companies. The brief, to design and deliver three 25t Battery locomotives to replace their existing trolley locomotives utilised at one of their Canadian mining operations.

28t Battery Locomotives

The Fraser Morgan Nickel mine, located in the Sudbury area of Northen Ontario, Canada, has been mining nickel-copper ores since 1929, and the locomotives are used to transport mined material for processing.
